Zoirjon Gapparov

Zoirjon Gapparov, head of the 'Savay Ariq Suvlari' farming enterprise in the Qo'rg'ontepa district, has been subjected to pressure by local authorities to surrender his land to Chinese investors. He and his wife were forcibly taken to the district administration (hokimiyat). After refusing to sign a statement claiming he was surrendering the land voluntarily, he has faced repeated inspections and pressure from police and prosecutors.
