Zhanarbek Bashanov

Bashanov, a civil activist, was sentenced to 7 years for public statements and social media posts criticizing Kazakhstani authorities. He was previously prosecuted for supporting DCK and Koshe Partiyasy. He was detained on March 21, 2025, and convicted on August 11, 2025.
