Dildora Khakimova

Dildora Khakimova is a teacher, blogger, and civil-society activist who publicly criticized corruption in the education system. She was arrested in February 2024 and convicted in July 2024 of extortion, charges which rights groups describe as baseless retaliation for her activism. She is currently serving a six-year sentence and has given birth to a child while in detention. She also suffers from breast cancer that requires urgent specialized treatment.
