В Москве в начале апреля 2024 года стало известно о возбуждении уголовного дела о «фейках» про российскую армию по мотивам политической ненависти и об оправдании терроризма против антивоенного активиста и блогера Игоря Оржевского. Поводом для уголовного преследования стали публикаций о Буче и о легионе «Свобода России».
В конце апреля против Оржевского возбудили дела о возбуждении ненависти и вражды и реабилитации нацизма из-за постов с критикой Путина и фотографии билборда, где президент России изображен с усами Адольфа Гитлера. Билборд имеет надпись «Пошел из Украины!».
30 апреля все дела на Оржевского объединили в одно производство.
Игорь Оржевский и его мать Светлана публикуют на сайте, в соцсетях и телеграм-канале информацию о войне против Украины, в том числе новости и способы помочь Украине. «ВКонтакте» по требованию Генпрокуратуры дважды ограничивал доступ к группам Оржевских, а в феврале заблокировал без права восстановления и личные страницы обоих активистов.
МВД объявило Оржевского в розыск. В отношении Светланы Оржевской ведётся доследственная проверка.
